WHY I FINALLY DECIDED TO PUBLISH....
(Our story behind the story)
When my son Kale was about to start kindergarten, he asked all the usual questions and then started adding more and more as the first day approached.
I was trying to look everywhere for a book we could read together to possibly ease his mind and my own.
All I found was a Sesame Street book about the first day of school, but it didn't really seem to capture all the worries this little guy was so wound up about.
Of course when your child worries, then your own anxiety heightens and all you want is for your child to not worry, relax and just be ok.
Sounds simple... right!? But it's far from that. Since my son was very small, I found any new changes in his life seemed to lift his level of anxiety to the point of not wanting to go... or an explosion of tears..
Some of his questions were above and beyond the actuality of reason. Yet, they were still his worries and were extremely important to not only him but me as well. Watching him spiral into a frenzy of "What-If's" was very stressful as a parent watching from the outside.
So for that reason he became the "What-If Kid".
If he could think of anything and everything that could possibly go wrong....?! He would...
As he has grown over the years.. his "What-If's" have slowly turned into "Why not's"...
He is growing up and with that.. his new transitions in life are not seeming as daunting or scary... which is an amazing triumph for this little boy.
My series "The What-If Kid"... may seem simple and the ryhming a little too childish for some.
However, writing this book has helped my son, not only with his confidence but all around demeanour. It lets all children know that they are not alone in their worries, and with a little kindness and empathy, a very scary day can turn into an amazing day full of new experiences.
I am currently working on my second book in The "What-If Kid" series.. and really hope you enjoy reading all about Kale and his fantastic imagination.
Thank you for looking at my page and please know;
"Worries are normal; please don't think they're strange. They come and they go with EVERY life change.
Happy reading...📚❤️

I bought this book here in Australia as my nephew started school this year. It is a thoughtfully written book which engages the child with the flow of rhyme and encourages them to want to learn to read it too. The best thing is this book is universal for children all over the world. Looking forward to more of the What If Kid series to share with my nephew, niece and many other little friends of our family.
Sounds awesome.!
